I am enjoying this book. The only issue I have had is that the translation is a little "rough". There may be other translations that are better.

Also, the copy I received has underlining and other handwritten notes. The handwritten notes were NOT original notes, but rather copied over.

So, I see this as a 5-star text with a 3-star translation and a 2-star "publishing run" (there shouldn't be copies of handwritten notes for a book I bought as "new".) I would look for other translations. I'll call this 3-stars, but recommend looking at other translations.

I will not be getting future volumes of St. John of the Cross from this publishing house or editor/translator. I will get the balance of St. John of the Cross's works by a different editor/translator and a different publishing house.
