Product Description This book combines the theoretical knowledge and psychomotor skills required to perform the required to practice the art and science of respiratory care. Other books only present the psychomotor aspects of a skill or procedure (monkey see monkey do). This is the only text that integrates the theory knowledge and the practical skills in one concise manual. By combining both aspects of procedural performance, indications, contraindications, assessment and outcomes may be more thoroughly emphasized. The inclusion of the American Association for Respiratory Care Clinical Practice Guidelines lends credibility to this approach. The clinical practice guidelines emphasize the importance of assessment of need, contraindications, hazards/complications, monitoring and outcomes assessment. Simply providing a ôcook bookö approach to a skill or procedure negates the importance of the theory required to perform adequate assessment and document outcomes of a given therapeutic intervention.

White's Lab Manual, 2008-09-19 This lab manual begins with basics, such as universal precautions and hands washing protocol, and presents clinical procedures in a way that's easy to understand. It can also go hand in hand with Egan's Fundamentals of Respiratory Care.
You hardly need an instructor., 2007-12-01 Everything is so well-explained in this book that you hardly need any help from your instructor. It even has a check list for your instructor to see if you know what you must to perform a procedure properly.
Just what I needed., 2007-10-10 Needed a competency check off for the Bird VIP and it was exactly what I needed.
Basic Clinicl Lab Competencies for RT, 2007-09-21 I recently started the RT Program and this is one of the required books to have. It has been very useful and is easy reading.
Great Lab Book, 2007-04-08 I had to purchase this book for respiratory therapy school, and overall, I think it is a really great book. It is easy to understand, thorough, and walks you through proceedures that you will need to know. I still use this book as a refresher. This is one that I will keep on the shelf as reference material.
