Product Description He could offer her only one thing — a week of intimate pleasure....
Samuel Lennox and Miss Alexandra Ionides cordially invite you to a most provocative game of seduction
It shall last for seven days, during which Lennox, Viscount Ranelagh, will wield his celebrated prowess with the London ladies in an attempt to add Miss Alex’s name to his list of conquests. The infamous list is long, though the duration of each liaison has been brief — and as the viscount will assure anyone, that is precisely how he likes it.
The lady, for her part, an accomplished artist and benefactress of various charities, has no wish to be a mere plaything. Although a week of intimate pleasure with a man of Ranelagh’s legendary skills would be memorable...
As for the other players — irate parents, designing debutantes, a scheming ex-mistress, even a love-struck young man with ideals — all seem intent on meddling. But the viscount is single-minded when it comes to seduction, and Miss Alex is in his sights.
Come see who wins in this amorous game!

Rated X reading, 2006-11-08 I thought at one time I really liked Susan Johnson. This book was so sexually graphic I will be embarrassed for people to know I read it. I rarely tell myself . . . "Throw this one away . . . I'm too embarrassed to pass it on to the Library sale". What a waste of time. I really don't think (in this time period 1878) this female character would really exist. YUCK! I'm glad I found it on clearance at Goodwill.
Great sizzle a little short on plot depth!, 2005-05-26 The Braddock Black and Kuzon series were some of the best books I have ever read. It seems when Johnson just writes a lone novel without a group of books to give her characters more depth there really is little substance to them. I found this to be the case with this novel. Sam and Alex might have been really complicated interesting people but mostly we just saw them lust for each other and have no purpose other than that to their lives. Now I have no problem with the sizzle -and it can go on for many pages and I will be very happy - however in her series books we got the sizzle and plot here we just get sizzle! I will still pick up a Johnson book before others because I do love her writing but still look forward to another really great series when you can emerse yourself in some amazing characters again!!
Just ok, 2005-02-03 This book is definitely "just ok", the main characters Alex and Sam don't excite me at all. They lust after each other but don't seem to like each other. They fall in and out of bed, with no real plot in between. I usually like Susan Johnson...she usually tantalizes her readers, but also makes the characters interesting and fun. Towards the end I didn't care what happened to Alex nor Sam, even the sex was repetitive and boring. I will continue to be a fan but I was very disappointed in this effort. Hopefully this was an exception.
steamin' up the room or coolin' it down, 2003-07-15 A beautiful woman in denial, while a young man lust after her, while fantasizing himself in her bed, and what naughty things could happen if she became HIS lover........ It all depends on what you seek in a romance novel. If you want non-stop sex then this is the book for you, if you find books that are about loving each other, and getting to know each other before they go seek sex, then find another book. I personally choose the first choice, so i enjoyed this book, and am now reading more of the author's books. So i hope you enjoy the book, and am like me!
Funny romance!, 2003-07-14 This book is in a much more lighter vein than other SJ works...quite brief and without the historical details I like. It is definitely not as bad as it is made out to be. I found the H&H quite charming and enjoyed their light hearted bantering. One thing that I missed was SJ super steamy love scenes. The book has quite a number of sex scenes, but they are not as hot as what she used to write before. Still, its worth reading once if u like SJ.
