awesome!!, 2007-12-31 Wow! This was my first susan johnson book and I will forever be a fan!! Adam Serre is THE MALE IDEAL!! I want one so bad. anyway, this book was so good. I loved how strong Flora is and also how experienced she is. She wasn't some virgin who immediately wanted marriage from him. Also Adam liked women but he wasn't an irresponsible reprobate. If anything he had too many responsibilities! He is a good man. Anyway, one thing I have to say is how happy I am he didn't sleep with any other women after Flora. Nothing will make me put down a book quicker. anyway, this is an awesome book. Probably a favorite I will re-read. And I never re-read books!
Devastatingly exotic and heartwarming..., 2007-04-22 "Pure Sin" tells the enchanting story of Adam Serre and Lady Flora. The story begins in the wilds of Montana and includes the interesting Asarokee Indian culture, as Adam is an exotic, and devastatingly handsome half-blood. Lady Flora is a headstrong and utterly independent young woman, as are most of Johnson's heroines (something else that makes her novels so delectable). The story also includes suspense-ridden terrain wars and even an adorable little girl of 3 years old who adds innocence and humor to the tale. This is by far one of my favorite novels by Johnson, however some of the brash sexual language may offend, just a warning...but if you are ready this book will take you on a sweeping journey that begins with the American frontier and goes even to the English gentry. The story is well-written, suspenseful, and the tantalizingly gripping love scenes will have you begging for more!
PURE BORING.., 2004-02-05 I can't believe the rating this book is getting. Personally I don't think the story is thrilling in anyway at all. Not even the sex-scenes. Flora the main character is the least special, I mean c'mon she basically throw herself on the laps of a (supposedly) macho undecissive male's ego. This reason alone is a put-off for a romance story; but there is more... I found the dialog is more like when one asks, the other answer by ASKING! What could be so special about the cynicism of the conversation anyway?? There is all this historical plots which at least quiet informative, so I give it 2 stars just for the research the author was conducting (I especially like the one that mentions about the early potato chips making). Anyway, I like Emma Holly's novels far better than S J.
A sin to put down once you started reading..., 2003-07-07 I was instantly seduced by Susan Johnson's Pure Sin after the first chapter. I absolutely couldn't put it down once I started it. The unconventional characters of Flora and Adam absolutely amazed me. I was also amazed at the strength and depth of caring each character brought to the book. The native american theme that intersects the plot intriged me and made me want to discover our american indian heritage. A great book full of emotion, adventure, and erotic romance. I highly recomend it.
Monotonous, 2003-04-28 The "plot" of this piece picks up immediately; unfortunately it is a very static plot embellished with a whole lot of [physical] interaction between the two main characters. After reading about them in steamy embrace again and then again, I became bored. ...
