A Stubborn Cowboy and an Even More Stubborn Lady, 2008-08-10 I got this book because it was recommended on a list and while it is a little dated it kept my interest and will be added to my collection rather than thrown at the wall.
Kit Lockford, the cowboy, was a rodeo bull rider when a major injury ended his career. Deeper than the scars on his body are the ones on his soul and Kit feels unloveable. Now he cocoons himself from a world he feels rejects and pities him.
Kelly Adams, fresh from overcrowded yet lonly of San Francisco, is looking for a place she can feel she belongs and hoping Taylorville, California is that place. She sees Kit without the shadow of his past obscuring the man he is now.
The path to a happy ending was neither smooth nor so filled with idiotic roadblocks that this book became a pleasent rainy afternoon's read. Heaven only knows how many 'wallbangers' I've struggled to finish... this was by far a pleasent surprise and a keeper.
