Romantic but not too believable ending, 2005-10-14 Heather Jackson dumped her husband Hunter Braddock ten years ago after an accident left her father dead and her mother paralyzed. Heather had married Hunter secretly and tried to tell her parents but they wouldn't hear of it. They insisted she had no time for love and needed to concentrate on college. Now she basically has no life because she's working in her uncle's advertising business and busy taking care of her ungrateful, manipulative mother.
Hunter's company has been looking for an advertising company to set up an account with and Heather's ad is one of the qualifying ads. He decides to challenge them since he owns a camping and sporting goods store and wants to see just how much they know about his merchandise.
Pampered Heather must go on the trip and is chagrined to see her ex leading up the camp. He feels the same about her. They get to talking and Heather explains to him she left him because she thought it would be too much of a burden to take on her and her disabled mother. he argues it should have been his choice and they both don't want to admit they still love each other.
Heather makes it through the trip heartbroken but a new woman after telling Hunter she still loves him but he won't believe it. After her talks with Hunter and some talks with her aunt, she decides to let the truth out and stand up to her mother and make some changes.
Hunter decides he wants Heather in his life and runs back to her, asking her to marry him again. This time Heather and Hunter have her mother's blessing.
The ending in this story wasn't too believable, though. Reconciliation takes a lot of time and this one takes a day. It's not realistic to say 'I love you' and expect your ex to fall back in your arms. I guess it would have been more believable if it would have been several motnhs later Hunter forgives Heather and asks her back.
All in all the story is romantic and it is nice to read reconciliation stories but this one just lacked a better ending. I've read better but I've read worse too. This falls in between.
